Night Shift Compliances under Factories Act and Shops and Establishment Act in Various States

In the recent years, multiple dynamic changes have been introduced in the Indian Labour Laws with the purpose of modernizing the norms at workplaces, encouraging gender equality and enabling 24x7 operations for manufacturing, IT/ITES, logistics and retail sectors. Various compliances have been introduced under the Factories Act and Shops and Establishments Act in multiple States for the workers/employees working in night shifts regulating the working hours, rest intervals, providing basic facilities by the Employer, etc. State-wise compliances with respect to Night shift has been mentioned in the table below for your ready reference.
