Deadline Extended for Periodical Publishers: Annual Statements for FY 2023-24.
In a welcome relief for periodical publishers, the Press Registrar General of India, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has announced an extension for filing Annual Statements for the Financial Year 2023-24. This move aims to provide publishers additional time to ensure compliance and accuracy in their submissions.
As per compliance requirements, publishers of periodicals are required to submit an Annual Statement to the Press Registrar General. Rule 9(1) further mandates that publishers with valid registration certificates must file these statements by 31st May each year via the Press Sewa Portal, accompanied by all required details and documents.
The previously extended deadline of 30th November 2024 has now been further pushed to help publishers meet their compliance obligations.
Key Updates:
1. Extended Deadline:
The deadline for e-filing Annual Statements through the Press Sewa Portal is now extended to 15th December 2024.
2. Option to Revise Statements:
Publishers who need to revise previously submitted Annual Statements for FY 2023-24 can now do so. The facility for revisions is open until 15th December 2024 on the portal.
This extension provides a valuable opportunity for publishers to ensure all filings and ensure their timely compliance obligations.
